Travel Health & Vaccinations
We recommend booking well before you travel, as some vaccinations and treatments take time. Our team can also advise on travelling at high altitudes, travelling while pregnant, deep vein thrombosis risk reduction and more. Travel health consultations are particularly important for those visiting friends and relatives overseas. People returning to their home country are often at higher risk due to close contact with local communities and lower awareness of destination-specific health risks.
Pre-travel Vaccinations
As well as Antimalarial medications, we also offer vaccinations for the following:
- Rabies
- Polio
- Typhoid
- Hepatitis A
- Tetanus/Diphtheria
- Whooping cough
- Meningitis
- Influenzae
- Hepatitis B
- Japanese Encephalitis
- Others
Traveller’s Medical Kit
It’s a good idea to take a small kit for minor illnesses and injuries while overseas. Severe illness or accidents should always be handled by local medical services and your travel insurance provider.
A basic kit might include:
- Pain relief (paracetamol/aspirin)
- Antiseptic and plasters
- Insect repellent and sunscreen
- Oral rehydration salts
- Bandages, tweezers, scissors
- Cold/flu tablets or throat lozenges
- Water purification tablets
Talk to your practitioners or pharmacist if you’re unsure what to pack.
