Whooping cough cases have doubled from 2010 to 2011, with more than 1,700 cases. Parents and close family are the source of infection for more than 70% of infants with whooping cough. All children under the age of twelve years are funded for the whooping cough vaccine.  A vaccine is also available for adults  -  a charge applies. Physiotherapy service

Bodyzone Physiotherapy now has a branch of their business at Crawford Medical. Their clinics are 8am-12noon Wednesday and 8.30-12 noon on Saturday.  Besides providing all aspects of physiotherapy and massage, Bodyzone is a "Specialist Foot Physiotherapy provider" and operates a NZ Foot Alignment Clinic. They also offer assistance with breathing pattern disorders such a hyperventilation, asthma and panic attacks.
